I started Jiu Jitsu when I was 12 years old. I originally started Jiu Jitsu for self defence and to have the confidence to stand up for myself. I quickly grew to appreciate the self esteem, health and well being that comes with being part of the Maroccolo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community. I have successfully competed for my club in state, national and international competition and have never lost sight of the help, friendship and support I have received from Marcos and my team mates. My success I attribute to their encouragement and the values that hard work and dedication brings its own reward – which is fundamental to the philosophy and practice of BJJ. These values I endeavour to impart to the up and coming members of our community in my role as a coach and mentor.

I’m Coach Kobi and I was born and raised in Kyneton. I have been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Maroccolo Academy for 6 years. I started helping out with the kids classes along with competing in 2018 then began coaching classes in earnest in 2020. Coaching is my passion, being able to pass the life changing benefits Jiu Jitsu has given me on to the next generation of Macedon Ranges youth is my mission.
